AL Track & Field is offered in the spring for 2nd-8th graders. We offer three divisions: MS (6th-8th) track team, a 4th–5th grade basics program and a 2nd-3rd grade developmental program.
The primary goals of the track & field program at AL are to promote health and a lifelong love of physical activity; to foster school spirit; to develop skills in a fun, positive and safe environment with knowledgeable coaches; to encourage mentorship and to provide our students with the confidence to pursue opportunities in high school and beyond.
MS Team starts on Friday, March 1 report to Armour Gym 3:45-5:30 pm. Pick up at the Armour Field after school, unless otherwise noted. Regular practices M, W, F 3:45-5:30 pm after school and every Sunday in March 4-5:15 pm location TBD. We will coordinate with soccer. Meet schedule not yet released.
4th–5th Grade Track starts Tuesday, March 26, 3:30-5:00 pm report to Oak Gym. This year we are splitting up the 4th and 5th Practices. 4thgraders on Tuesdays and 5th graders on Thursdays. Some Sundays for all 5:15pm-6:15 pm location TBD. They will have at least one meet against other area schools and an internal mini-meet, mentored by the MS Team. We need parent volunteers.
2nd-3rd Grade Track practices will be on Tuesdays. We must now alternate campuses. Cherry kids practice March 26, April 9, 23, from 4-5:30 pm and Oak kids practice April 2, 16, 30 from 3:30-5:00 pm. They will have an internal mini-meet at the end of the season, mentored by the MS Team. We need parent volunteers.
