Mme. Salas was born in Marseilles, France and raised in Marseilles and Corsica (a French island in the Mediterranean sea). Her dad was a farmer and her mom an elementary school teacher. She came to Leawood, Kansas (mistaking it for Hollywood!) in 1990 to be an "au pair" and to learn English. She met her husband, Alain (also French) while he was attending chiropractic school in Kansas City. She went back to school to obtain her Missouri Teacher Certification and taught 2nd grade in the Kansas City Missouri scholl district with Mme. Houfaidi in 1996! She then joined Academie Lafayette in 1999. She has a lovely daughter, Maya and enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with friends and going back home as much as possible.
