Dear Parents:

Would you like to enhance your child's experience of the French language and culture?

Are you interested in sharing the American culture with an eager young person from overseas?

You and your family can support your child's learning and model global citizenship by hosting one of our interns during the coming school year!

Who is an Intern?

• Young men and women between the age of 20 and 30
• Currently enrolled at universities in France studying languages and education

Why do Interns come to Academie Lafayette?

• To volunteer as teaching assistants in kindergarten and first grade classrooms
• To learn and practice English and learn about US culture

What do Host Families Do?

• Welcome an intern into your home for one semester or one school year
• Help them explore American culture and develop international friendships

What are the benefits of being a Host Family?

• You will create memories for your family that will last a lifetime.
• You will be giving these special people a place to call home.
• You will be providing a great service to your child's school.
• You will be supporting your child's mastery of the French language!
