Norman is a graduate student at the University of Strasbourg in France. He is an Italian who was born and raised in Luxembourg. He speaks French, Italian, Spanish and English. He is a sports fan and plays on a semi-professional soccer team. Norman attended UMKC for a year and is excited about coming back to Kansas City. |

Morgane’s family has an equestrian farm and she has spent many years teaching younger children to ride horses. She graduated with a kindergarten teaching degree and is now a student in sensory orthopedagogy, This specialization allows her to teach children who are deaf, blind, or who have other special needs. |

Ophelie is in her 3rd year of college and working on an English degree. She plays the saxophone in several jazz and classical bands. She plans to be an English teacher and hopes to improve her languague skills while in Kansas City. |

Zachary is looking forward to learning about American culture. He has been practicing music, especially drums, for twelve years and has a fondness for jazz. He also loves to cook and is interested in sharing his skills with his host family. In his spare time, Zachary likes to play sports, such as soccer, rugby and swimming. |

Laura is interested in bringing her creative skills in theatre, music and art to the classroom. She enjoys writing and playing music, jogging, and cooking. She has worked with youth at summer camps and is currently helping teenagers understand and complete their homework. Laura hopes to teach English someday and is looking forward to improving her language skills while in Kansas City. |

Leonie is studying to be a teacher and hopes to eventually work at a bilingual school in either Germany or France. She is very active and enjoys running, hiking, swimming and bowling. She is not a vegetarian, but rarely eats meat. Leonie spent two weeks in Arizona during high school and is looking forward to learning more about American culture. |

Lucie is earning a dual degree in Spanish and English. She hopes to teach French as a foreign language when she is done with her schooling. Lucie enjoys dancing and has taken modern dance and jazz for over twelve years. She also plays the piano and enjoys classical music. Lucie has been an exchange student in California, as well as hosted American students in France. She enjoys getting to know other people, cultures and cities. |

Leslie is from Mériel, a very small and peaceful town twenty minutes from Paris. She hopes to teach French as a foreign language when she is finished with her schooling. Family is important to her and she enjoys spending time with her younger cousins. She is looking forward to meeting her host family and making the most of her time in Kansas City. |

Sophie is a third year student at the university of Cergy-Pontoise. She is studying Great Britain and American literature and civilization. She enjoys cooking, playing games, going for walks and visiting museums. She also likes to go bowling, to the movies and is an avid rower and biker. Sophie wants to be a teacher someday and hopes this experience will help in her future career. |

Ines is a student at the François Rabelais University in Tours, France. On weekends she enjoys seeing friends, going to the cinema, and visiting places, such as museums. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, and meeting new people. She has a big family, including two younger siblings and is used to being around children. Julie is currently working on her master’s degree in Art at Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand. Her hobbies include playing tennis, visiting with friends, going to the cinema, shopping, playing on the computer and watching television. She also plays the drums and is learning guitar. She loves listening to music, especially rock’n roll. Julie hopes to be an English teacher, or a French teacher in an English speaking country when she is finished with her studies. |

Guillaume is from a small village in Belgium. He is working on his Masters in Agronomique Science, and is interested in nature, gardening, birdwatching and photography. He describes himself as a generous person who likes to help people. Guillaume is interested in sharing his passion for gardening and agriculture with his American host family. |

Amandine is a studying at Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand. She is especially interested in English language and culture and hopes to be an English teacher someday. She likes swimming, playing badminton, cooking, and listening to music. She is excited to try new things and wants to make the most of her time in Kansas City. |

Anna is working on her Masters in International Law. She has lived in Portugal, India and Cameroon. She believes that immersion is the best way to learn a different language and culture and is excited to learn about the United States. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, going to the cinema and spending time with friends. |

Dorine is a student in literature and FLE. She hopes to teach French in a foreign country when finished with her schooling. She eats fruits, vegetables and pasta, but especially likes chocolate and apple fritters. On the weekends, Dorine likes to read, go to the cinema, bowl, and kayak. She will be traveling in China with friends before starting her internship in Kansas City. |
