2010-2011 KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT GUIDELINES
Open Enrollment for the 2010-11 school year will be January 4, 2010  through February 12, 2010  at 5:30 p.m. This process gives everyone who enrolls during this time period the same opportunity. There is no advantage to turning in your application on the first day vs. the last day of Open Enrollment.

Kindergarten children must be five (5) years old BEFORE September 1, 2010 to start kindergarten in August 2010.

Children MUST live within the boundaries of the Kansas City Missouri School District. Académie Lafayette can not accept tuition or make other exceptions for students who live outside the school district.

Academie Lafayette will accept 85 kindergarten students for the 2010-11 school year. This total includes siblings and teacher's children.

At the end of Open Enrollment, we will do one of two things:

1. If we have received more applications than available slots, all names will be put into a lottery and we will draw for the 2010-2011 kindergarten class. The lottery will not only determine who is accepted, but the order of the waiting list for the remaining students.
2. If we have received fewer applications than slots, all applications will be accepted and the remaining slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis until full.

Letters will be mailed to all applicants on or before February 22, 2010. Any application received after Open Enrollment will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Siblings of current Académie Lafayette students and children of teachers living within the Kansas City Missouri School District will have priority over other applicants, as outlined in our original charter. However, these students must enroll during the open enrollment period from January 4 - February 12.
